At some point last century, Cornell created live fencing, aka hedges made from roses. I guess to keep animals in place and everyone forever more in central NY state covered in cuts if they have any intention of removing them or trying to "work with them". They are the bane of my hobby farm existence, aside from right now, for about 5-7 days. These invasive, Prince Charming thwarting shrubs emit one of the world's greatest and most beautiful scents imaginable when they bloom. I guess we all have our day in the sun, right?
